Youth Inclusive Dairy Market Systems (YIDaMS)
AgriNet Uganda Limited in partnership with Ripple Effect Uganda, is implementing the Youth Inclusive Dairy Market Systems (YIDaMS) project to empower young people in the dairy sector in Southwestern Uganda, aiming to create dignified and fulfilling work opportunities.
To help young people find work, the project uses tried-and-true models, including the Village Agent and Market Brokerage models to empowerment of 50,000 young women and men to access dignified and fulfilling work.
AgriNet has developed, digitized and managed the Management Information System that profiles project participants and tracks project activities and process in real time, providing real time and seamless reporting for the project
Climate Resilient Agribusiness for Tomorrow (CRAFT) project
AgriNet Uganda Limited with financial support from Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) is implementing a Climate Resilient Agribusiness for Tomorrow (CRAFT) project aimed at promoting Soybean climate smart production, processing and market integration in Eastern Uganda. Through the project , we have :
- Created and established a contractual soybean supply chain relationship with over 8,905 farmers spread over 6 districts of Tororo, Bugiri, Bulambuli, Budaka, Butaleja and Kibuku
- Increased on-farm production and productivity for 7,553 farmers from 300kgs to 600kgs per acre and their incomes also increased by 50% through adoption of soybean climate smart agriculture production practices
- Procured and installed a modern state of the art Soybean oil processing line with a capacity of 6MT per day
- Processed, pack branded UNBS certified virgin soybean oil
National Oilseeds Project, NOSP
AgriNet Uganda Limited is partnering with the Government of Uganda Ministry of Agricultural, Animal Industries and Fisheries (MAAIF) to implement the National Oilseeds Project (NOSP). AgriNet is working in the Eastern hub, as a buyer (off-taker) and processor for soybean, providing a ready market for soybean for over 5000 farmers in 6 districts in Eastern Uganda. Through this project intervention, AgriNet is contributing to the wealth and economic welfare of small-scale farmers and also the National GDP of the country
Rice Legume Integration - RAiSA lI Project Initiative
The Reduce, Re-use, Recycle Rice Initiative for Climate Smart Agriculture (R4ICSA) – Phase 11 project is implemented by Kilimo Trust in Uganda (Tororo, Butaleja & Kween districts).
Project aims to improve incomes and food security for 10,000 rice farming households and other value chain actors in Kenya and Uganda.
AgriNet is contributing to three project outcomes, namely:
- Increased adoption of rice-legumes rotations (green grams, soya beans, chickpeas) and short duration pigeon peas) among rice farmers.
- Increased access to inputs and output markets for rice products and by-products and legumes
- Increased adoption and utilization of products and by-products from rice and other complementary farm enterprises
In this project AgriNet to provide a market and offtakes of all soybeans grown by the farmers in the RiCSA lI project implementing sites in Uganda.
